Stevenson recently showcased his skills with an impressive victory over Teofimo Lopez, securing the WBO super-lightweight world champion title, thus marking his reign in a fourth weight class by the young age of 28.
However, it seems that Stevenson's reign as a super-lightweight champion might soon be coming to a close. He has expressed a strong desire to return to lightweight and pursue title unification bouts. Nonetheless, after his dominant win against Lopez, it was Benn's name that Stevenson brought up, surprising many by calling for a bout against the British boxer, who is set to make his comeback to the welterweight division after a four-year hiatus from the 147-pound weight class.
In a recent interview with FightHype.com, Chisora welcomed the idea of this fight, but he was candid about his expectations, suggesting that the outcome would likely be a one-sided affair in favor of Stevenson. He stated, "It’s Shakur Stevenson. I love Conor, Conor is my brother, but it’s a whitewash. Conor has got pressure and all of this but, if your legs are not in the right space with a southpaw, you’re going to get f***ed up. You’re going to get beat."
Chisora went on to express his enthusiasm for the potential showdown, saying, "I would love that fight to happen, Shakur needs to come to London and fight Conor. It would be a good fight, huge."
