Florida Secures Transfer Commitment from Auburn's Eric Singleton Jr.
Florida has secured a transfer commitment from Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr., a move that adds a talented playmaker to the Gators' offense.
Singleton, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound receiver from Douglasville, Georgia, had initially declared for the 2026 NFL Draft but decided to enter the transfer portal. His decision to leave Auburn brings him back to his home state, where he began his collegiate career at Georgia Tech.
During his time at Auburn, Singleton made a significant impact, catching a team-high 58 passes for 534 yards and three touchdowns. His impressive performance included an average of 9.2 yards per catch and starting all 12 games. Singleton's talent was further showcased by his SEC rankings, tying him for eighth in receptions.
The connection between Singleton and Florida's new wide receiver coach, Marcus Davis, is notable. Davis was Singleton's receiver coach at Auburn, and Singleton's leadership in receptions for the 2025 season provides a familiar dynamic for Davis. Additionally, Singleton's two seasons at Georgia Tech, where he caught 104 passes for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns, offer a familiar offensive coordinator in Buster Faulkner.
However, Singleton's connections go beyond his coaching relationships. He has ties with other former Georgia Tech players who have committed to Florida, including quarterback Aaron Philo, wide receiver Bailey Stockton, and offensive lineman Harrison Moore. These connections could further enhance Singleton's impact within the Florida program.
Singleton's high school background is equally impressive. As a three-star recruit in the 2023 class, he was ranked as the No. 73 wide receiver in the country and the No. 60 recruit in Georgia. His decision to transfer to Florida solidifies his status as a top talent in the SEC.
With his combination of skill, experience, and connections, Eric Singleton Jr. is poised to make a significant impact at Florida, adding depth and talent to the Gators' wide receiver corps.
