This indie gem, developed by Datadyne, takes inspiration from classic SNES RPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, but it doesn't stop there. Instead of merely imitating, it infuses its world with Celtic myth and culture, creating a lush and captivating setting.
A World of Magic and Steampunk
The game's world-building is a standout feature. From verdant hills to cozy towns, every environment is meticulously crafted. The attention to detail extends to the soundtrack, which seamlessly blends Irish instruments with a steampunk aesthetic. It's a unique fusion that immediately draws you into this magical realm.
Characters and Combat
'Forge of the Fae' introduces a diverse cast of characters, each with their own distinct personalities and roles in combat. The main character, Fiora, is a brilliant engineer who harnesses the power of magical crystals to create innovative inventions. Her mechanical faerie companion adds an extra layer of intrigue and strategic depth to environmental puzzles.
The combat system is a refreshing take on traditional turn-based battles. Adrenaline Points (AP) introduce an element of risk and reward, allowing characters to access powerful Surge skills. The potential for strategic combinations is immense, especially with the ARC Crystal System, which grants access to magic spells and elemental properties.

The game's day-night cycle adds an extra layer of depth and strategy. During the day, enemies are weaker, and you regenerate SP with standard attacks. At night, the world transforms, enemies become tougher, and SP regeneration is removed, forcing players to carefully consider their approach to combat.
